Osteopathy

Cos'è l'osteopatia?

Osteopathy is an independent health profession (officially identified in Law 3/2018), based on an integrated approach, which makes use of manual contact for the assessment and treatment of osteopathic dysfunctions, called "somatic dysfunctions" which usually occur mainly with pain or reduced mobility.

It is a complementary therapy to traditional medicine, characterized by its own clinical reasoning and which resorts to a causal and non-symptomatic vision (in fact the cause of pain often finds its localization far from the painful area).

It is therefore essential to always conduct an exhaustive data collection of the patient in order to have a global vision of his clinical history that allows to identify the osteopathic diagnosis and the planning of the best therapeutic plan.

It is an approach suitable for all age groups as it is able to adapt treatment plans and the use of specific techniques in a unique way on the patient. It is effective in terms of prevention, evaluation and treatment of disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system, but which can be associated with visceral and craniosacral disorders.

The "somatic dysfunction", exclusively of osteopathic competence, has been codified in the tenth edition (ICD 10) of the International Classification of Diseases, Injuries and Causes of Death of the World Health Organization (WHO - WHO), in Sector XIII (Diseases musculoskeletal system and connective tissue) Code M99 (Biomechanical lesions not elsewhere classified). This represents a clear step towards integrating osteopathy into the global health system.

Osteopathy in Pregnancy

Pregnancy is the period in which the body naturally begins a series of functional and postural changes.

Osteopathy follows the pregnant woman in these phases, so that they take place in the most physiological way possible: relieving the overload of the spine and pelvis, optimizing the functionality and synergy of the various systems including the visceral and musculoskeletal systems, promoting elasticity tissue and joint mobility of the maternal pelvis to promote good labor and a correct expulsive phase.

Furthermore, osteopathy represents a valid support even after childbirth: it facilitates the restoration of physiological curves and the recovery of the musculoskeletal balance of the pelvis and spine, resolves the possible dysfunctions that may be created during childbirth, controls any outcomes scars from caesarean section or from episiotomy and supports the lactation period by providing adequate information on the correct postures to maintain.

Osteopathy Pediatric

Bimbo.png

Pediatric osteopathy is the branch of osteopathy dedicated to children from 0 to 15 years. It encompasses a very wide range of ages and problems. It uses delicate, gentle and painless techniques, where the safety of the little patient is the therapist's priority.

To get a complete picture of the child's history and verify that the reason for the consultation is osteopathic, the treatment is performed only after collecting the necessary data, from pregnancy to the time of the consultation.

The goal of pediatric neonatal osteopathic treatment is to intercept, where possible, dysfunctions created by childbirth, called "birth trauma": the normalization of these dysfunctions in the first months of life allows to avoid their chronicization, supporting the physiological development of the child and avoiding the establishment of osteopathic dysfunctional patterns that can lead, even after years, to the manifestation of disorders of various kinds.

In the school and adolescent phase, our focus is to support the child / adolescent in his phases of growth and great change.
