Neuropsychomotricity therapy

The Neuro and Psychomotor Age Therapist (TNPEE) is the Healthcare Professional who carries out prevention, qualification and rehabilitation interventions at an early, pediatric and developmental age when atypia, delays, developmental disorders are present.

The TNPEE intervention aims to harmonize or rebalance psychomotor development for the overcoming / compensation of motor, cognitive and relational deficits, using body mediation as a tool and favoring the relational dimension.

A multi-factor analysis or an individualized neuropsychomotor assessment is fundamental for an adequate therapeutic choice, which will allow the definition of the objectives of the therapeutic project and the start of taking charge in a multidisciplinary team.

What is the role of the TNPEE?

The TNPEE welcomes every child's language, be it tonic, gestural, mimic, emotional or verbal. He grasps his need through careful observational analysis and empathic listening, placing himself in a non-judgmental perspective and creating a protected and safe environment in which the child can express himself freely. Furthermore, the therapist communicates with the child through spontaneous play in a non-directive way, enhancing his strengths to work on his frailties, respecting his times of evolution and maturation.       _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb589094-136bad5cde-3194-bb589094-136bad5ccc3 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_      1_cc7819094-badd5-136bcc5_b58f5-3194-badd5-136bcc5_ -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136badc5cf58d5-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d5 -1394c5-3194c5905-3194c5-3194c5-3194c5-3194d81-3194b905 bb3b-136bad5cf58d_       _cc7819094-badd5-136bcc5__cc7819094-5cde-136badc5-3194-badd-136bcc5_ 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_       _cc781908-5cde-3194bbadd-136bcc5-3194bd5-1394bcc5-3194bcc5_ 3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_       3194bde-5bd3-136b58f58d_ _cc7904-badd5-136bcc3-5b58f58d_       _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb589094-136bad5cde-3194-bb589094-136bad5ccc3 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_      1_cc7819094-badd5-136bcc5_b58f5-3194-badd5-136bcc5_ -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     _cc781905-5 cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5c5890d-3194-bb3b-136bad5c5890d-3194bc5-3194b805-bbcc7-3194b81-5 bbcc7 -136bad5cf58d_       _cc781905 -5cde-3194bbadd3 -136bad5cf58d_   -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_     Equally important is mediation with the family to promote the reading of their needs and the sharing of strategies that can be exported in the daily context the generalization of the child's skills, prevent / reduce some problematic behaviors, favoring the implementation of adaptive behaviors.

This makes it possible to promote parental empowerment, or to increase the sense of competence and self-efficacy, through support during the phases of the care process and the active involvement of parents in the therapeutic program.

The game in the neuropsychomotor therapeutic dimension

The game represents the preferential channel used in the neuropsychomotor context since it represents the privileged activity of the child and the primary communication bridge with his world. The game also becomes the tool to achieve the set goals and is also a goal in itself.

It is in play, in fact, that the child expresses himself fully through movement: by playing he experiences the tone of his own body, opens up to narration, invents and becomes creative.

What distinguishes the daily play of the child from the play carried out within the neuropsychomotor session is the specific planning of the latter, planning that directs and welcomes the spontaneous action within an intentionally thought and shared path.

How is the intervention of the TNPEE activated?

The referring physician who reports the need for neuropsychomotor therapy is usually the Child Neuropsychiatrist, who is responsible for the clinical diagnosis and coordination of the interventions and operators who take part in the rehabilitation project.

The indication for a neuropsychomotor intervention can also be formulated by the pediatrician when there are developmental difficulties in the child.
